The Nerd, a comedy by Larry Shue

Aug. 14 – 30, 2015

Willum’s friends and client are gathering for a quiet dinner party for his birthday, when Rick, a man Willum’s never met but who saved his life during Vietnam, suddenly drops by to finally meet.  To Willum’s dismay, Rick turns out to be an incredibly inept and dimwitted “nerd” who overstays his welcome with a vengeance.  The evening and Willum’s life quickly dissolve into insanity!  Slapstick gold!

A Delicate Balance, classic by Edward Albee

Sept. 25 to Oct. 11, 2015

Agnes and Tobias, a well-off, middle-aged couple, have their complacency shattered when friends Harry and Edna appear on their doorstep, claiming a nameless fear has driven them from their home.   This household, already teetering from the “willful” drinking of Agnes’ sister, is further upset by the return of the couple’s daughter seeking sanctuary from her fourth failed marriage.  In Edward Albee’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony award-winning drama, forces collide bringing doubt, recrimination, and ultimately solace, to the “delicate balance” of Agnes and Tobias’ world.

(Due to circumstances beyond our control, A Delicate Balance is replacing the previously announced show Good People.)

It’s nonstop fun for the whole family. Whether you’re a scrooge or Jolly Old St. Nick himself, you’ll ho, ho, ho out loud!

Calendar Girls, a comedy by Tim Firth

Jan. 15 to Feb. 7, 2016

When Annie’s husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade fellow women’s club members to pose for an “alternative” calendar. News spreads, the press arrives and friendships are put to the test. Based on a true story, this poignant and touching comedy has become the fastest selling play in British theatre history. Warning: contains discreet portrayals of nudity and may not be suitable for some audiences.

Same Time, Next Year, a comedy by Bernard Slade

March 4-20, 2016

One of the most popular romantic comedies of the century, this Tony Award winning show follows a love affair between two people, Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a year. Twenty-five years of manners and morals are hilariously and touchingly played out by the lovers.

The Servant of Two Masters, a comedy by Carlo Goldoni, adapted by Constance Congdon

April 15 to May 1, 2016

In this high-flung/low-brow comedy, a hungry servant hatches a scheme to double his wages (and his meals) by serving two masters at once. Part improv, part political satire, part sketch comedy, this modern adaptation of a commedia dell’arte classic will have you laughing hysterically while waiting to see what mischief happens next.

The Last Round-Up of the Guacamole Queens, a Jones Hope Wooten comedy

June 3-19, 2016

This gut-busting farce is the last comedy in the Verdeen cousins trilogy with Red Velvet Cake Wars and Rex’s Exes. Gaynelle, Peaches and Jimmy Wy are up against the clock as they frantically and hilariously attempt to produce the “ultimate high school reunion” before the old building is demolished. But they’ve got a bushel of obstacles to overcome before they can pull off this miracle: another funeral, an on-screen cat fight, a self-righteous aunt, a randy uncle and a contaminated crime scene. As they race to the finish, chaos is side-splittingly achieved!
